For those of you who have not yet discovered Prince Edward Island, its beauty, its people, and its nature, you are in for a real treat. PEI National Park offers further opportunities for shorebird watching and includes more than 300 species of birds throughout the park. Besides the endangered piping plover, look for great blue herons, cormorants, and ospreys.

The Blue Jay was voted in as the provincial bird of Prince Edward Island. It lives throughout North American and remains all year long. They are known for their beautiful blue hood, wings and tail feathers and for the shrill noises that they make.
